Elle Majors, founder

Elle Majors has been specializing in men’s style & fashion for over a decade. Her career began with men’s grooming in 2005 by becoming an educator for American Crew, a international men’s professional grooming line. Traveling nationally she has taught stylists about men’s hair, how to style it, the latest trends, & building a men’s-oriented business in classrooms, stages and auditoriums. This passion crossed into business ownership in 2009 when she took ownership of her first barber shop. After six years owning her own barber shop she now takes appointments three days a week in Boulder, CO at Voodoo Hair Lounge.

The years in the grooming industry lead to the decision to further concentrate her passions as founder & creative director of By Shipshape. This company started as an idea while traveling. Elle was collecting soaps & shampoos from hotels to donate to the organizations caring for the homeless in Denver. Since volunteering her time with several of those organizations it became clear she could do more and with that came an idea. Allowing people who purchase to be part of donating through the KEEP:GIVE initiative; which donates a toiletry size bar to grassroots organizations in their community.

Providing hygiene product is only the beginning. By Shipshape is working to create 5 jobs by the end of 2017 for those also starting over from homelessness, prison, and addiction.

The tangible need for toiletry donations and job creation is as great as the need to start these conversations in our own communities.
